Course Title: Best Practices to Build Scalable AI Solutions on AWS
I. Details of the event/activity
On September 29, 2023, I attended a webinar hosted by NetCom Learning, featuring Terumi Laskowsky, an AAI Champion and Authorized Instructor. The webinar focused on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its machine learning services as well as its specialized libraries and algorithms.
Terumi's insights into tools like SageMaker, Rekognition, Lambda, Polly, and Comprehend left us with a deeper understanding of how to harness AWS for various applications. It was an enriching event that empowered attendees with valuable knowledge about AWS and its potential.
II. Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)
The webinar was a real eye-opener for me, as it helped me gain a much better grasp of the topics at hand, particularly Machine Learning Services and Amazon itself. Ms. Terumi also dove into the intricacies of data processing and feature engineering in AWS Machine Learning, highlighting the importance of several stages in shaping data into a trained model capable of making predictions or classifications.
While I did have some prior knowledge about data preparation stages, the webinar still added significant value to my understanding of the subject as it also pointed out key points to consider in designing scalable AI solutions on AWS.
III. Reflections on possibilities of implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learning)
As a student in the field of IT, this webinar has been a real game-changer for me. It's not just about gaining knowledge; it's about opening doors to countless possibilities in the IT industry, the path I'm looking to embark on.
What's truly remarkable is how this webinar has equipped me with insights I didn't even know I needed. It's like discovering a hidden treasure chest of information that is crucial, especially in the context of designing scalable AI solutions.
In essence, this experience has expanded my horizons and given me a newfound sense of direction in my IT journey.
IV. Positive Feedback (on the event organization)
The way the webinar was organized and presented was refreshingly simple yet very easy to understand. It was like a treasure trove of knowledge, and Ms. Terumi herself was incredibly warm and approachable. Her speaking voice was clear and easy to follow, which made the whole experience even more engaging.
Ms. Terumi did an excellent job explaining the topic, leaving no room for confusion. What really stood out was her willingness to engage with the audience. She didn't hesitate to ask questions and made it clear that she was there to address any queries related to her presentation.
V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/considered for future activities
Regarding potential improvements, I'd like to suggest the adoption of the Zoom platform for upcoming webinars. This would enable a more personal and interactive experience, allowing both the audience and viewers to connect visually with the speakers and interact more effectively with one another. I believe this enhancement could greatly benefit future sessions.
