Course Title: GC CCS Acquaintance Party 2023
I. Details of the event/activity
The event was held on September 29, 2023, organized for the Gordon College - College of Computer Studies Department. This event served as a memorable experience for all CCS (College of Computer Studies) students as they also organized their own booth related to their program.
The event had various fun and exciting activities mainly, a dance competition, modeling, cosplay, booths, awarding of CCS students, and raffle prizes.
II. Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)
The event taught me that, despite our hectic schedules, we can come together and collaborate effectively to create a more enjoyable event that appeals to not just our GC CCS department but also those outside it. Every individual put in a great deal of effort to ensure that our acquaintance party was the best it could be. Whether one was an introvert, extrovert, or ambivert, we all worked harmoniously to design and organize booths that catered to everyone's enjoyment.
This experience provided valuable lessons in event management, encouraged creativity and social interaction, and strengthened our bonds with classmates and batchmates.
III. Reflections on possibilities of implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learning)
This event has truly been a great learning experience for all of us. It has taught us the ins and outs of event coordination and has allowed us to tap into our creativity to ensure that everyone had a good time. These lessons are not just for the here and now; they will be valuable in our future endeavors. This event has provided us with a platform to practice and improve our event management skills.
As IT students, these skills are particularly important for us. They will enable us to think critically and organize effectively for any future activities or events we may undertake. It's been a valuable experience that will stay with us as we continue to grow and develop our abilities.
IV. Positive Feedback (on the event organization)
From the instant we entered the venue, an unmistakable atmosphere of excitement and eager anticipation enveloped us, foreshadowing the remarkable and thoroughly delightful experience that awaited during the entire event. It was an occasion that undeniably made a lasting impact on each and every one of us.
V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/considered for future activities
I have a small suggestion for improvement that I'd like to share. It would be beneficial if the organizers could provide a structured flow for the event, as there were instances where some participants missed out on certain parts. However, I want to stress that despite this minor suggestion, the event was genuinely fantastic and enjoyable for all.
